Chlamydia
The most common bacterial STI globally. Often completely silent with no symptoms. A leading cause of preventable infertility in both men and women. Easily treated with a single dose of antibiotics.
Genital Herpes
A lifelong viral infection caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV-2 or HSV-1). Cannot be cured but can be effectively managed. Very common — affects 1 in 8 adults globally. Most people with herpes do not know they have it.
Gonorrhoea
A bacterial sexually transmitted infection caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae. One of the most common STIs in Africa. Highly treatable but if left untreated causes infertility, chronic pelvic pain, and increased HIV risk in both men and women.
